To make the cracker, just use a paper towel roll cut down to about 3-1/2 inches. Insert your announcement and wrap the tube in tissue paper. The tissue paper should be about 3 inches longer on each side of the tube. Use pretty paper cut to 3-1/2” wide to wrap over the tissue paper.
Tie one end of the tissue paper and add confetti or some other fun filling along with your announcement. I used paper snow that I grabbed on clearance after the holidays. Tie the other tissue paper end.
You can mail the cracker announcement in a box or if you’re having an announcement party, have each guest take one.
The announcement can be a simple note or you can have fun with it by adding little personal touches.
These announcement crackers are a great way to be creative and not break the budget. You can use supplies that you have like, paper towel tubes, gift wrap, tissue paper and embroidery thread. On the announcement card I used, a piece of scrap book lace, an old button, a scrapbook rhinestone and pearls and a scrap of ribbon.
