CELEBRATIONS: Faux Vintage Lace Napkin Rings

Faux Vintage Lace Napkin Rings via homework | carolynshomework.comI mentioned last week that this year, I’m not hosting Thanksgiving at my house (fist bumps everyone)! But when I do have large gatherings, I like to use napkin rings even if I’m not going to use cloth napkins.

I tend to mix them together on a tray or basket but I needed a few more. I wanted to incorporate the white but slightly yellow look of the capiz shell and the vintage tarnished silver look.

Start by cutting your paper towel tubes to the size that you want. To get the yellowed look I used Antique Mod Podge and tissue paper. Just cut and wrap white tissue paper around each tube and coat with the Antique Mod Podge.

Once the tissue paper is dry wrap a piece of lace around each tube and seal with another coat of Mod Podge. I used Matte Clear for this coat. Rig a drying rack and use clothes pins to hold the lace ends together. Let thoroughly dry.

I’m going to stash them away until my next large gathering… you know, because I’m not hosting Thanksgiving this year!

Thanks for visiting.
