The Inspiration Board: creative party spotlight ~136~

TGIF friends! Are things getting back to normal around your neck of woods? Holiday decorations packed away, kids back to school, pine needles and glitter vacuumed up? Okay – we all know that pine needles and glitter never get fully cleaned up, somehow they keeps magically reappearing all year.

I have a few more things to do and then the holidays season will be officially closed at my house. While I take down the Christmas cards and snack on holiday treats, enjoy the projects in the spotlight this week.

And if you didn’t get a chance to stop by this week, here is what I shared.

!cid_ii_14368dc0737fceb1Plus, I kicked off the new year with a fantastic giveaway. A Clean or Cook prize – the winner can choose from a Dyson Slim or a Kitchenaid Mixer. If you haven’t entered, click here to enter today!

Now on to the featured projects. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and shared your creativity – I’m so very grateful to all of you.

penguin funBaby it’s cold outside! These adorable Penguin Gum Drops and Igloo Cakes by Crafts a la Mode are just darling.

candlesticksWe all have them. Those glass bud vases that the florists use. Anderson & Grant has transformed several of those glass vases with paint and creativity. I love these repurposed as candle holders.

IMG_1971Urbane Jane kicks off the new year with a wonderful diy storage farm bench. Beautiful thick wood planks give the project a sturdy solid feel and nice details like the cut out legs make it extra special.

Anise-BiscottiAnise Biscotti with chocolate and almonds by Ode to Inspiration. Oh my, doesn’t that sound delicious. I seriously could go for one right now with my cup of coffee.

4-FREE-Printable-Thank-You-CardsI have to confess, I still need to write my holiday thank you cards. Now I’m glad I waited because I’m going to print out these fantastic cards from The Casual Craftlete. Four different designs ready to download and print.

winterkabouter 5aHelena Haakt brings us more adorable gnomes. These sister gnomes are just darling. Ready to give it a try? Head over and check out the pattern.

DSC_0982What a cozy and inviting guest room from Vintage Finds. The bed looks like the perfect spot to curl up with a good book and that chest is truly a treasure!

stella elephant 1Isn’t this adorable elephant card by Paper Seedlings like a breath of fresh air? I have a love for paper projects and this sweet card makes me smile.

010314 006Never Ending Decorating has completely transformed an eighties-era vase with sisal and stencils. It was a gutsy move adding the stencils after all that work adhering the sisal {I would have been so nervous that I’d mess up after all that work} but it truly makes it extra special.

Cottage-Style-Laundry-Room-Makeover-AnExtraordinaryDay.net_An Extraordinary Day has me oooohing and aaaahing and a bit envious of her lovely laundry room. My laundry room doubles as a bathroom for my teen son so you can only imagine the condition it’s in. When he leaves for college next year, I’ll be drawing my inspiration from this beautiful laundry room (and of  course missing him…)
