INKLING: DIY Stash-Busting Business Cards

diy business cards via homework | carolynshomework.comDid you see my big news on Monday? I’m going to be joining over 100 bloggers across the United States for a Hometalk & Michaels in-store Pinterest Event.

1I’ll be at the craft table in the West Los Angeles store on February 16th from 1:00 – 4:00. You can read all about it here.

diy business cards via homework | carolynshomework.comBesides some freebie fun chalkboard cards I’ll be giving to the first 24 attendees, I’ll be handing out Hometalk cards and my own cards.

diy business cards via homework | carolynshomework.comMy blog business cards were out of date. They have my old logo and old blog URL. I was thinking about ordering new ones but decided to do some stash busting and make my own. I printed out current information on brown Kraft paper and simply covered up the old information. To give the cards a more current look, I used my rounded corner punch on one side. I also made them into hangtags by punching a hole and adding a little reinforcement and some string.

diy business cards via homework | carolynshomework.comI made several different types of cards. These were made from some blank bookmarks. I cut off them down to business card size and again used the rounded corner punch. My information is printed out on scrapbook paper and a piece of Washi Tape adds a bit of pizzazz.

diy business cards via homework | carolynshomework.comFor these cards, I used miniature hangtags. The edge of the Kraft paper was created with a edging scissors called postage stamp.

diy business cards via homework | carolynshomework.comIt’s always fun to use up what you have. Plus, I used some of my favorite crafting tools. Edging scissors {postage stamp}, Washi Tape, Kraft paper, rounded corner punch and circle reinforcements.

diy business cards via homework | carolynshomework.comI made a lot. I’m hoping the jar is empty after the event – wish me luck!

Thanks for visiting my little corner of the creative world.

  1. All the best with the Hometalk event, I hope you hand out ALL of your cards. You've made me think about my stash... I SHOULD be using it up. It's been in hybernation for too long.
