CELEBRATIONS: Patriotic Shooting Star Napkin Rings

Patriotic Napkin Rings with Stars via homework ~ carolynshomework (7)I have such a fun project to share with you today – just in time for a Fourth of July celebration. These Patriotic Shooting Star Napkin Rings will add a touch of some red, white & blue to your table.

Patriotic Napkin Rings with Stars via homework ~ carolynshomework (8)To make these shooting stars, I used the Lifestyles Crafts Star Punches. These punch dies create a row of the same shape so you don’t have to run the die through your machine several times. Plus, the die creates a nice embossed border around each star.

Patriotic Napkin Rings with Stars via homework ~ carolynshomework (11)The metallic paper is also by Lifestyles Crafts. They’re Adhesive Metal Sheets and you can run them through your Evolution machine and then remove the back to stick them to a variety of surfaces. I wanted my stars to be 2-sided so I stuck the entire sheet onto blue and red scrapbook paper and then ran them through the Evolution.

Patriotic Napkin Rings with Stars via homework ~ carolynshomework (16)Here’s the step-by-step.. 1. Create your stars using the Star Punch and the Evolution Machine.  2. Make your napkin rings using paper towel rolls cut to the width of your ribbon. Punch a small hole in the tube so you can pierce the wires through.  Adhere the ribbon around the tube. 3. Add some fun trim like red mini pompoms. 4. Pierce wire through the hole in the tube and through the ribbon. Secure the end wires inside the tube with tape. Use glue dots to stick the stars to the wire.
