Phew… I barely finished this year’s Advent Countdown in time. We’re on day 2 so I probably should have had this all done a week ago. But a week ago I was thinking about turkey and stuffing. With not much time, I went with a simple concept this year inspired by the classic lyrics “brown paper packages tied up with string…”
Each little package contains a small goodie: gum, stickers, a tiny toy or candy.
The brown paper is recycled packing paper that I ironed to smooth out the wrinkles.
Red & white baker’s twine is perfect for these tiny little packages.
The countdown numbers were created in Word and I used my favorite 1 inch circle punch to quickly cut the circles.
It doesn’t seem possible that it’s the holiday season and the countdown has begun…
Are you ready? Because before you know it… it will be Christmas Eve.
So ready or not, let the countdown begin…
Thanks for visiting.
What a sweet idea! The packages look beautiful and so festive!
ReplyDeleteLove this idea Carolyn! So simple but very pretty!
ReplyDeleteThis makes me so giddy. I LOVE the look of brown wrapping with simple string. I LOVE advent calendars. And I LOVE wrapping presents!! Who would I give all these to? I have a husband and a 5.5-month-old. Maybe next year, I'll do this for my little man! My husband might appreciate it, but since he's in charge of the money, he would totally notice that I spent a bunch at CVS, and he would be like, "Why'd you spend all that money on gum and gift cards, for me?" Basically, I'd be spending HIS money to get HIM things that he doesn't really want! HAHA... but next year! For the baby, he'll totally go for it and help me pick stuff out. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat pics!
