Etceteras: tissue paper trees

It seems I can’t get enough spring color lately. These little tissue paper trees would be perfect for a table center piece or place card holders.

A pretty in pink cherry blossom tree.

 A serene lavender wisteria tree.

A zesty yellow lemon tree.

The base for these trees is made with rolled up corrugated cardboard. You can purchase corrugated cardboard or reuse boxes. If you’re going to reuse a box, you need to peel away the top later of the cardboard to reveal the corrugated part.

The flowers are made with tissue paper. Simply cut a length of tissue paper and cut scallops along one edge. Then roll up the tissue paper and crimp the bottom.  Glue onto twigs or wire and insert into the rolled up cardboard base.

Planning a wedding? Make white flowers tissue paper trees for your place card table or for each place setting.

  3. I absolutely love every single thing that you write about. The simple rolled cardboard rounds on these are a fresh idea too. I like your suggestion about using miniature versions for place setting ornamentation. Such a nice touch.
