GOOD TASTE: BLACK & WHITE CUPCAKES

Black & White Cupcakes by homeworkI’m trying to learn how to frost cupcakes so that they’re oooh and ahhh worthy. This is my first attempt at the swirl technique. I definitely need some more practice but thankfully I had some pretty cupcake holders to detract from my mediocre frosting skills. The cupcake is in a black & white polka dot baking cup and then nestled in a beautiful pearl paper floral cupcake wrapper.

Black & White Cupcakes by homework (1)More swirled frosting practice with chocolate sprinkles on top. I used a black birdcage cupcake wrapper for this one.

Black & White Cupcakes by homework (8)The frosting on this one is a little sad so I smothered it with crushed cookie sprinkles. I thought it looked like a kid-friendly cupcake that would be perfect for a birthday party.

Black & White Cupcakes by homework (3)Ahh – it looks much better with a pretty candle on top.

Black & White Cupcakes by homework (5)I need to practice some more and learn some other techniques like flowers and rosettes.

Black & White Cupcakes by homeworkI would share recipes with you but since these were practice cupcakes I used a mix. Shhhh – don’t tell.
And all the beautiful baking cups and cupcake wrappers are from WholePort.

Thanks for visiting.
