GOOD TASTE: Tomato, Mozzarella and Basil Salt

Tomato with Mozzarella and Basil Salt via homework (1)Summer may be winding down on the calendar but here in Southern California it’s just heating up. My tomatoes are just turning red and I’m starting to enjoy the crop.

Tomato with Mozzarella and Basil Salt via homework (2)As much as I love fresh basil, there’s just too much of it to eat even from one plant. Last week, I shared this super easy way to preserve your fresh basil by making basil salt.


Tomato with Mozzarella and Basil Salt via homework (8)Fresh tomatoes, a little chopped up fresh mozzarella, olive oil and a dash of basil salt. Oh my, everything is so fresh like it should be.


Tomato with Mozzarella and Basil Salt via homework (5)Did you plant tomatoes this year? I don’t think I’m going to get a bumper crops since most of my bushes got some sort of disease and look like Charlie Brown tomato plants. But one bush is giving me nice, ripe tomatoes.
